Faces of... is a large-scale drawing installation that turns photographs into drawn artworks in real time. AI captures faces from the crowd, generates line drawings, and a robotic gantry paints them onto a 4.8-meter canvas using a traditional calligraphy brush.
Working with Studio Art & Commerce and artist Sir Peter Blake, Whatever Together designed and built the complete system, including robotics, electronics, hydraulics, and software.
The installation debuted at Mandarin Oriental's 60th anniversary in Hong Kong, creating over 200 portraits and generating an estimated $10M in media value. It has since appeared at the Global AI Summit in Riyadh.
