Whatever Together initials

A studio for whatever's next.

Whatever Together is a small independent studio for technical direction, interaction design and creative engineering. We help people make their unconventional ideas real.

So far we have invented invisible images, moved the moon and proved that sometimes bitmaps are better than Bluetooth. Often there are robots.

Who

Whatever Together is led by designer and technologist Dev Joshi. He works with a wide network of trusted collaborators to deliver projects of varying scales around the world.

Inventors in the inventory, coders on call, designers on deck, engineers en route — we are lucky and proud to work with Arron & Crystal & Duncan & Fergus & Gareth & George & Grace & Jen & Jessie & Karsten & Max & Naomi & Neelesh & Norah & Pierre & Roland & Sean & Tom & Tom & Will & Willem

Where

London, mostly in a workshop by the Wandle; collaborators are wherever the work needs them to be.

Why

The best briefs are the ones nobody quite knows how to start. WT exists to help people lift ideas into reality by clarifying concepts into tangible systems and artefacts.

Most projects start with one of three questions:

  • 01 What should I build?

Strategy and feasibility. You have an idea, or the feeling of one. We help you work out what you actually want, what matters, and what’s a distraction before serious money gets spent.

  • 02 How do I build this?

Technical development. System design, prototyping and testing. Will it work? Let’s find out.

  • 03 How do I make this happen?

Delivery. A small, senior team assembled around the brief, working alongside or inside your own.

We have answered these questions across fine art, entertainment, healthcare, robotics, education and hospitality for one-of-a-kind prototypes and for devices delivered to the mass market.

How

“Together” means with people: none of this can be done alone, and the studio stays deliberately small so that the right team can be built for each brief.

“Together” also means taking a project whole. Concept, engineering, budget, and delivery so that each part can strengthen the others.

Projects are most fragile at the very beginning. In the gap between an idea and an action there are a hundred ways for a good idea to quietly die. This is the space in which we start: turning a feeling into something that can be built, tested, and eventually stand on its own.
