Kimchi and Chips
A different perspective
Reworld is a large-scale outdoor sculpture built from thousands of lenses that transform images and viewpoints in the real world.
The pavilion remixes the view of the city, creating new relationships between the built environment, various biomatter, the atmosphere and the ground by moving its many lenses in symphony.
The piece was showcased at the 4th Seoul Biennale in September 2023.
Whatever Together worked with Kimchi and Chips to develop the mechanical components of the Reworld lens modules and their integration with surrounding electronic and structural systems. With a focus on materials, manufacturing and design for assembly Whatever Together conducted research and recommended tools, techniques and technologies which enabled the prototyping and fabrication of this large outdoor kinetic artwork.
